Twenty years in the executive ranks and 13+ years as an executive coach brings real world experience to the development of leadership skills throughout organizations.  Rich spent twenty years working in hospitals, from middle management to the executive suite.  He has seen and lead mergers, acquisitions, and sales while leading the staff through that stressful process.  He has both knowledge and experience in leadership issues like accountability, team development, building trust, handling conflict, leadership through storytelling, managing performance issues, and many more topics.  Further, Rich has experience working with board of directors of not-for-profit organizations, helping them perform as true boards while supporting their executive management team.  This work is based on his years as both an executive and a board member.

Rich received his undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Health Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.  He completed his coach training though CoachU and served on the CoachU faculty for five years.  He also taught executive coaching at the Business Coach Institute.  He is certified in the use of the DISC Behavioral Style Profile assessment and the Workplace Motivators assessment.  He is a Professional Certified Coach, a credential conferred by the International Coach Federation.
